Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 27, 2026

Spoken Guidance (“Spoken Guidance,” “we,” “us,” “our”) makes a personalized Bible-reading app and related website, newsletter, and social channels (together, the “Services”). This Policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

This is the short version, because it’s the heart of how we’re built:

  • We never sell your data. There is no one to sell it to, and there never will be.
  • There are no ads in the Services, and no advertising trackers.
  • The app never claims to know you. You tell us where you are; we point you to Scripture. Only God knows you (Psalm 139).
  • You can see, change, or delete your information at any time.

1. Who we are

Spoken Guidance is operated by Isaiah Abraham (a sole proprietor), based in Brooklyn, New York, United States. Contact us any time at legal@spokenguidance.com or by mail at 196 Utica Ave, Unit #2209, Brooklyn, NY 11213.

2. Information we collect

a) Information you give us

  • Account: your email address and a password (stored only in encrypted/hashed form).
  • Date of birth (including year): used to confirm you are old enough to use the Services (13+) and for no other purpose.
  • Your season & “what’s on your heart”: the seasons, feelings, or reflections you choose to share so the app can open Scripture for where you are. You share as much or as little as you want.
  • Reading activity: the plans you start, days you read, and answers to the gentle comprehension questions.
  • Messages to us: anything you send to support, feedback, or replies to our newsletter.

b) Information collected automatically

  • Product analytics (PostHog). We use PostHog to understand how the app is used — which features people open, where they get stuck — so we can improve it. We use this only to operate and improve the Services. We do not capture the text of your reflections or your “what’s on your heart” check-in, we never use analytics for advertising, and we never sell it.
  • Basic diagnostics — app version, device type, and crash logs — to keep the Services running and secure.
  • We do not use advertising trackers, ad IDs, or third-party marketing pixels, and nothing here is used to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

c) Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by the Apple App Store and Google Play. We receive your subscription status (active, trial, canceled) — not your card number or full payment details, which the stores handle.

d) Newsletter (optional)

If you subscribe, your email is managed by our email provider, Kit (ConvertKit), to send the weekly note. You can unsubscribe from any email.

3. How we use your information

  • To provide your readings — using the season you share to open Scripture for where you are.
  • To operate your account, sync your progress, and keep the Services secure.
  • To process your subscription (via Apple/Google) and confirm access to premium features.
  • To send the newsletter, only if you opted in.
  • To respond to support and feedback and improve the Services.
  • To meet legal and safety obligations.

We do not use your information to build an advertising profile, to “score” or judge your faith, or to make automated decisions about who you are.

4. How your readings are generated (our AI provider)

To create and personalize your readings, the season and plan context you provide are sent to our AI processing provider, Anthropic (the Claude API), which generates the reading text and returns it to us. Under Anthropic’s API terms, this data is processed to provide the service and is not used to train their models and not sold. We send only what’s needed to generate the reading — never your payment details, and no advertising identifiers.

5. How we share information

We do not sell or rent your information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the Services, and only as needed:

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transfer (e.g., if the Services are acquired) — in which case this Policy continues to apply.

6. Children

The Services are for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it promptly, in line with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Users who are minors where they live should have a parent or guardian’s permission to use the Services.

7. How long we keep information

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep limited records for legal, tax, or security reasons.

8. Your choices and rights

  • See or update your information in the app’s settings.
  • Delete your account — and your personal data — from within the app (Settings → Account → Delete Account), or by emailing us. We provide in-app deletion as required by the app stores.
  • Unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any email.
  • California residents (CCPA/CPRA): we do not sell or “share” your personal information; you may request access or deletion and will not be discriminated against for it.
  • EEA/UK (GDPR), if applicable: you may have rights of access, correction, deletion, portability, and objection; our legal bases are performing our contract with you, your consent (newsletter), and our legitimate interest in running and securing the Services.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls) to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep yours safe.

10. Where your data is processed

The Services are operated in the United States. If you use them from elsewhere, you understand your information is processed in the U.S. under this Policy.

11. Changes to this Policy

If we make material changes, we’ll update the date above and notify you in the app or by email before the changes take effect.
