Who is the Creator of Spoken Guidance?

For some time now, I've pondered how to really present myself as the one who started Spoken Guidance. The right time. The perfect moment. And the more I thought about it, the more I pushed it back — hiding myself and saying the goal is to lift up Jesus, not myself.

But how can you, the people, trust something without knowing who made it?

Spoken Guidance started off as an idea for a Bible app. Then I realized there were so many more possibilities. I realized how deeply devoted I had become to Jesus through the Bible. Many people say they don't hear God, or that they struggle to hear Him. But I would argue that the majority of our prayers could be answered if we would just read the Bible — understand the stories, the teachings, the history.

Through my readings, I gained a confidence in the plan of God that is unwavering. Through every up and down, I knew I was on solid ground, because I had Jesus yesterday, I have Him today, and I'll have Him forevermore. But I gained that knowledge through countless failures, trials, and tribulations.

Jesus is enough. Desire to know Him and learn about Him. It's all in the Bible.

And what Spoken Guidance aims to do is simply point people to it. An app that builds daily habits. Social platforms meant for community, not just general verses. A newsletter that keeps the whole community updated. A blog where people can read and find different topics. A podcast for your drive or your train ride to work. All of these things make up what Spoken Guidance is trying to do.

But Spoken Guidance is you. The people. The community seeking to learn. The community seeking to share. The community seeking Jesus.

The Part I Almost Let Stop Me

Through my many trials and tribulations, I questioned whether I would ever be worthy of this moment to spread the Gospel. To start a podcast when I'm not the perfect speaker. To write a blog when I'm not the perfect writer. To create an app without knowing how to write a single line of code.

I could have been disobedient and said, "I need time to learn all these things first." But then I remembered Abraham — told about the promised land, and he immediately went, without having a clue where that land even was. If I hadn't known that from the Bible, I wouldn't be doing any of this. I would have disguised my fear as a waiting season.

So I set it in my mind: even if one person reads my blog posts or engages with Spoken Guidance, that could be one person saved. Spoken Guidance isn't here for metrics or for profit. It's here for you.

Who I Actually Am

Now, I'm just a young man from Brooklyn, NY. I didn't know who I was before Jesus, so I let the world dictate who I am.

My name is Isaiah Abraham. I've been an athlete all my life, playing soccer for as long as I can remember. Competing at various levels taught me so much about discipline and consistent habits. I learned how to fall and get back up. I learned how to lose, and how to come back from defeat.

But the more I seek Jesus, the more I actually learn about myself. What a shock it is to find out that the One who created you knows you best.

Growing up, I wasn't the biggest fan of church. My mom would be banging on my door at 6am to get me ready, and I would stall just to make sure we'd miss worship. Then as soon as we got there, I'd sleep through the whole service. I was going to church, but I never had a revelation of who God really is. I was living in sin and feeling no conviction. Just trying to live life.

That all changed when I had a horrific knee injury.

All of my life's plans flashed before my eyes. And I realized the one thing I had put my identity in was gone — not for a few days, not for a few weeks, but for eight months. I knew that injury happened because of my distance from God. That's where the change began.

How the Reading Started

After that, I set a goal to read the Bible. I read on and off, still living in sin, still feeling no conviction. It wasn't until I was completely lost — like God had removed everything from my life just so I would see Him — that it finally took hold.

After months of reading on and off, I finished on the last day of the year, reading twenty pages a day for the last three months. I read the Bible again after that, over the span of a year and a half. Then I got to my third read, and realized how much deeper I wanted to go. Revelation upon revelation — but there were still layers I hadn't reached yet.

That's why I started building Spoken Guidance. To make those layers accessible to everyone.

All of that to tell you: you can't know where it's going if you don't know where I've been.

I am Isaiah Abraham. Just someone who loves Jesus and loves reading the Bible, trying to share that with the whole world.
